Daniel Grumer
Lettering design
[About]
Daniel is a type designer at Fontef type foundry and a lecturer in typography and type design at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He studied visual communication at Bezalel from 2010 to 2014 and earned a master’s degree in type design from the Type and Media program in The Hague in 2016. He specialises in multilingual type design, with a particular focus on the relationship between Hebrew and Arabic scripts and how they can work together while preserving the distinct characteristics of each. During the Biennale’s open studio week, he will share his hand-drawn Arabic type design process, offering a glimpse into the decisions and details that shape the letters.
