Yuval Etzioni
Textile Design
[About]
Yuval Etzioni is an Israeli textile artist, curator, senior lecturer, and researcher of textile culture. Since 2009, she has served as Lecturer in the Department of Textile Design at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art, following years of experience as an industrial designer specializing in knitwear and the operation of her independent textile studio. Her curatorial approach is grounded in a deep interest in people and in the ways design reflects lived experience, relationships, and cultural contexts. Through research, collaboration, and careful storytelling, she creates exhibitions that reveal the processes behind design while inviting audiences into authentic, emotionally resonant encounters with objects, ideas, and the people who shape them. Her academic research and practice focus on Israeli textile history, material culture, and visual literacy. Holding master’s degrees in Culture Research (Tel Aviv University) and Visual Literacy (Kibbutzim College), as well as a Curatorial Certification, Etzioni actively bridges theory and creative practice.
Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions globally, including the Biennale of Crafts & Design at the Eretz Israel Museum. As a curator and author, she frequently leads research-based exhibitions and publishes on key figures and historical narratives within Israeli textile design.
